About Color Converter

The contrast checker tells you whether text is readable on a background, using the WCAG 2.2 contrast ratio: it shows the ratio and whether it passes AA and AAA for normal and large text.

Frequently asked questions
Which contrast do I need?
WCAG level AA asks for 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text (about 24px, or 19px bold) and for icons and controls. Level AAA asks for 7:1 and 4.5:1.
What is OKLCH?
A newer CSS color format based on how people perceive color: lightness, chroma (colorfulness) and hue. Changing the lightness keeps the hue looking the same, which makes it great for building palettes.
Why does it say a color is outside sRGB?
OKLCH and OKLab can describe colors that ordinary screens and hex codes can't show. They're adjusted to the nearest displayable color, so the hex and RGB values are approximate.
How accurate is the CMYK value?
It's a simple conversion without a printer color profile, fine for a rough match. For print work, convert with your printer's profile.
