Privacy policy

Your files

The tools on Hakoro process files inside your browser. The files you open are not uploaded to our servers or anyone else's, and we never see them. The same goes for anything you paste or type into a tool, such as JSON, tokens, keys and generated passwords.

Components downloaded by some tools

Some tools download extra components the first time you use them: the AI model used by Remove Background (from the Hugging Face Hub), the AI runtime (from the jsDelivr CDN), and the language data Image to Text needs for languages other than English (also from jsDelivr). Like any web request, these downloads reveal your IP address to those services. No file data is sent.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand which tools are useful: for example, that a tool page was visited, or that a tool ran on 3 files of 1–10 MB. It's set up to be privacy-friendly:

  • It never receives your files, their names or their contents, or anything you type.
  • No cookies or local storage are used to recognise you; visits are counted with an anonymous, privacy-preserving hash.
  • Session recording and automatic click tracking are off.
  • Error reports have file names removed before they are sent.

Analytics requests go through our own domain.

Saved on your device

To save you time, your browser remembers a few things locally: your theme (light or dark), the settings you last used in each tool (such as an output format or page size), and which tools you used recently. Pages, program files and downloaded components (such as text recognition languages) are also cached so tools keep working offline. None of this includes your files or anything you type, and none of it is sent anywhere. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.

Hosting

Our hosting provider records standard request data, such as IP address and browser type, to operate and secure the website.

Changes

If we change how data is handled, we will update this page first.
